Benjamin and I have been married since 11/17/2001. We have both really grown closer in the last year, with each other and God. I think we are the strongest we have ever been.
We have three wonderful little girls, ages 7, 3, and 2. They are little gifts from God that I would not trade for the world.

One of my favorite Bible Passages

28 Do you not know?
       Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.

29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.

30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
       and young men stumble and fall;

31 but those who hope in the LORD
       will renew their strength.
       They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

I see it now

I can not tell you how many times people have informed me that I look just like my mother. Mom passed away when I was one. I honestly can say I don't know much of how she looked. I have seen plenty of pictures of her while she was growing up, and I can't begin to find the words to tell you how beautiful this person was. Though I don't find myself to be ugly, I couldn't imagine compairing to the girl I saw in pictures.

I do have a picture or two of her, just after I was born. She was still beautiful, but there was a little more to her than there was in highschool. A set of twins can do that to you. I still really didn't see the similarity, but I just let people say what they must, and moved on.

Well today I took a picture of myself to update on face book. It is definity the nicest pic I have seen of myself in a long while. Well I was editing, croping, and just playing around with light and color on the pic. I got things to where I thought they were perfect and I really liked the results. Then I saw this button to play with black and white tones. I had six options, and one of them hit me hard.

I see it now! I look like my mom. I am so happy with this picture of myself. I can't wait to hear people say; "You look just like your mom!" now.

Piper’s Birthday

Piper is three, and this is the final birthday for the Thomas clan. It’s tough having all three birthdays been in April, but I’m going to have me a really nice mom’s ring some day!!!

We are still working on the potty training, but have made huge steps in the last couple of days. Yesterday she went all day without an accident, until 9pm, and then she wet her pants twice in half and hour! She even went poopy in the potty!!!

Speaking of yesterday. I had to take Piper to convenient care and have her looked at. Our doctors office just could not fit her in, so I drove her to the 12 miles to the clinic. Upon evaluation they noted her intense and fitful cough, a fever of 103.6, and oxygen levels at 96%. They did a nose swab test that tested positive for RSV. I was instructed to take her to the ER. Well the ER is about an hour drive the other direction from our home, so off we went. Carrie watched the older two girls over night while Ben and I went to the hospital. We were there until 1am. They listened to her lungs and did a chest x-ray. Everything is clear, but she does have RSV, and she is sick. They said she is two old for staying the night for RSV treatments, just to treat this like a regular cold. But she is two young for cough and cold medicines by FDA standards. So I am keeping fluids in her (as she does not want to eat), and I am piggy-backing Motrin and Tylenol.

Today she is in a little better spirits, but is still getting a little overwhelmed with her cough. It really knocks it out of her when she has her coughing fits. Thankfully today she is getting more than 2 minutes between fits.

We will not be doing anything special for her birthday tonight because of her being sick. Tomorrow she has her 3y check up/follow up from the hospital. I think I might take her shopping after words for some Mommy, baby time, and get her some new clothes. We will see. I just hope she starts feeling better soon.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PIPER!!!!!

Birthday Party

Yup we had another one, Indiana turned 8 on Sunday! It makes me want to cry thinking about it really. I can’t believe it’s been that long since I had my fist baby girl, since she changed my life.

I was super sick on Sunday so we didn’t do much of anything. Indiana went to church with Daddy and Talladega, then came home bringing her cousin Schuyler along with. They all went fishing while Piper and I vegged on the couch. Nothing got caught.

Indiana’s gifts this year were a kids garden set (made out of wood and steel), the set included; a shovel, hoe, rake, trowel, and hand cultivator, gloves and a chair. This whole set is in bright pink. Perfect for my little girl. We also got her one of the 72 pot Jiffy Starter sets, and 5 different kinds of flowers; cosmos, morning glories, sweet william, marigolds, and zinnias. I think these are perfect. We have selected the spot right next to the side walk to plan her flowers. Schuyler helped Indiana start the plants in the Jiffy thing. I’m hoping to be able to plant in a couple weeks.

On Friday, Indiana had thee girl friends over for a sleep over. After school they played on Bellasara.com, and youtube, and went down to the creek. After we ate pizza and had some cake they all went down to the creek for some fishing. No one caught anything, but they had a blast learning how to fish from Mr. Ben, some girls were better than others, but non the less it was fun. After fishing they all screamed for a fire, so I started one up in my home made (and might I add lovely) fire pit. They buttered Mr. Ben up enough that he actually drove to the next town at 9pm to get stuff for s’mores!

We finally got them all in to bed around 11pm, and they all said prayers, it was just the cutest thing. I had to leave for work at 9am, but Ben said the girls all got off just fine with their parents around 10.

Indiana got some really nice gifts and had a great time with her friends. These girls were so very sweet and I would love to have them as company again.

Miss California: Gay marriage answer cost me Miss USA crown -- Newsday.com

You Go Girl!!!!!

That’s right, I don’t care who I offend, and my friends know it. I believe that marriage is between a woman and a man, and nothing can sway me any other way. I have gone to school with, and worked/work with many homosexuals. They all know where I stand, and everyone I’ve met respects that.

I am a Christian, this country was founded on Christian morals, and I believe the Federal Government should make a law, that can not be changed from state to state, that marriage is the union between one man and one woman. Nothing else!

Praise God that someone finally had the guts to stand up and say what they believed on national television like that. I’m just upset that more people didn’t take the time to watch it. God Bless American, and God Bless Miss California 2008.

This makes me think of the election all over again. Indiana was the only child in her class who voted against Barak Obama! When asked why she stated, “Because I want to keep the money I work for, and I don’t think people should kill babies.” It’s amazing what a child understands. She will be Miss (insert state here) some day. I just know it, and I hope she is willing to stand for what she believes.

Growing and Growing

Talladega’s Drs. appointment went very well. The Dr. was impressed with how smart she is and how much she has grown. If y’all remember in the past Talladega had issues with growth, she did do it!

Today Talladega measured 39 and 1/4 inches, and weighed in at 32lbs. This puts her in the 50th percentile for both height and weight. Not a small fight for her, I am so glad to see her having a healthy progression in both areas. We had no concerns and neither does the doctor.

Praise God for a healthy little girl.

The cake, the girl, her best friend Logan and Uncle Chris, blowing out the candle…We had a great night.

It’s my Birthday, I’m four!

Yup, that’s what Talladega told me this morning. She is so happy for herself. I on the other hand can’t believe it has been four full years since I brought her into this world.

We took doughnuts to school for snack, because none of the kids like cupcakes. Talladega was so happy to share her birthday with her class-mates. She just loves everyone she goes to school with.

Daddy had school tonight so we had a late family gathering. Uncle Chris and Logan showed up early and they played till Daddy got home. Then we all went down to the creek. Aunt Carrie, Schuyler, and Connor showed up later and we all went inside for Cake. The cake was strawberry with cream cheese frosting. It said Happy Birthday Talladega with a number 4 candle. I will share pictures later.

Talladega was excited to get her first bike for her birthday. It’s a 12” Huffy Sea Star, with training wheels. It will take her a while to learn it as she had never really liked riding on tricycles, so the whole pedaling thing is new to her. But like I said she was excited, and I look forward to many afternoons outside trying teach her to pedal.

I pray that this year is a good year for Talladega, she has come so far with exiting her shell, and becoming a fun loving, and care free little girl. I look forward to encouraging this personality. I love how she is interested in Jesus Christ, and hope that I can continue to nurture and feed the light that is growing inside her. Talladega loves to pray at every meal, and is normally quick to remind people that we can’t eat until we pray. Tomorrow is her yearly check up. I will let you know how that goes, God Bless.

Work, work, work

Goodness, poor Benji. Things are going really good for his company, unfortunately that means the guys are getting little sleep and next to no family time. For the moment, most families are okay with this. I know mine is.

Normally Ben only works Mon - Thur. four 10h shifts and the week is done. Well last week was the first Friday he didn't work in a month. Doesn't sound like much I guess. Well yesterday he was supposed to get out of work at 4:30 like any other day, but they decided to stay late. They is a collective in the whole shop, these guys really work well together. He didn't end up leaving until 8:30!!!!! Today he is putting another 8-10h in. He is going to be a very tired daddy. Hopefully the girls let him sleep in tomorrow.

Praise God Ben and I are both working for companies that seam to be holding up quite well in this tough economic time.
